I’ve been itching to start another blog. I don’t know why, it’s not as if I haven’t got enough to do already. And I can’t say I have a different style of writing ready to explode out of me. It’s likely to be more of the same.
But it will be about my allotment, which I’ve just taken on. I hope it will be a way to record what I’ve sewn when, when my spuds should be coming up, and actually just an excuse to talk about how exciting growing things is, without boring those of you who maybe aren’t as completely amazed at how things are produced from such tiny seeds as I am.
The name of the blog? A song by John Martyn, one of my favourite musicians. The title seemed somehow apt for an allotment blog.
If you want to visit my other blog, you can find it here.
Hey! Would you like to try growing some pumpkins? It’s not hard, trust me, if I can do it andone can do it. And it doesn’t take as much room as you’d think. Photo here.
I was thinking of trying pumpkins, especially as one of most popular gardening TV programmes did a trial on them last year. They are good ground cover too, I believe, which must keep weeds down. Did you raise those beautiful specimins in your garden?
Yes, aren’t they pretty? They’re yummy to eat, too. I’ve got a giant bowl filled with seeds just waiting for a garden.
I shall put this blog on my friends list and follow it with interest as I’m a keen armchair gardener and lawn lounger.
‘Mildew ‘ is another allotment blog here on WordPress.
Happy digging!
