[...] Last Easter we visited a National Trust property in Sussex, Batemans, the home of Rudyard Kipling. I think that was where my love for taking photographs was rekindled. This Easter, with the festival falling a good few weeks earlier, the weather couldn’t have been more different, but despite the unfavourable snow flurries, we set off to another property run by the National Trust, Standen House. The promise of an Easter Egg trail for the girls drove us out of the house (the temptation to stay indoors and watch an old movie was great). [...]

I love your blog. I've always drooled over English Gardens. I live in a sub-tropical climate sigh, so I console myself with lots of tropicals. Thanks for a great site.

It's all looking good! I'm looking forward to sowing some vegetables. I love the tete-a-tete daffs and plan on planting some later on in the year. Happy allotmenteering!

Thanks for the linked mention. I've got lots of packets of seeds, mostly flowers, with more on the way!
I did loads of rough plans like that but the plot ended up different to all of them.
I like the livery, which of course I should as it's the one I use!
Take care and happy gardening!

Hello, it's nice to read an entry here as it's been a while. That's a fine, and big,
looking shed in which I presume you can stand up straight in. If I stood in mine there'd be no room for anything else!
I've been compiling a seed list over the past month or so and think that I've finally sorted out what I'm going to order. Needless to say it's a pretty long list.
Thanks for including me on your Blogroll, I'll add you back on to my Lawn Loungers list.
Take care and happy gardening.

Hi Angelfeet, (from June)
That lady on the Gardeners' Question Time programme from the Hay festival was me- seriously looking for advice on how to keep the Rambling Retor in check. Basically I was told to get rid of it!
After it flowered this year my specimen fell down too, (crushing the Maiden's Blush in a very barbed embrace) just like Bob Flowerdew said his had, although I had thought it was firmly attached to a large (retired) metal climbing frame. Now I'm trying to prune off nearly everything and establish the remains on a new pergola. He really is too good to throw away, both for scent, predominantly cloves, and visual beauty. We shall see, next June!
